Random

I'm watching a movie named, The City of Your Final Destination, and Laura Linney's character happened to be cracking open some pecans & it made me think of some moments in my childhood

Whn I was younger I would go down to Alabama every year & stay for about a week. My maternal great grandmother has a house down there & in the front yard there was a pecan tree. I used to love to annoy my great uncle Cornelius about whether I could eat the pecans until he would finally tell me, "damn it, girl! Go ahead"! I'd grab about six or seven, carry them in the front of my shirt inside the house & sit in the kitchen & crack them open on a napkin.
...
As I started to think about that story, I started to think about how I learned to open them by hand & I remember that my paternal grandfather taught me house as we would sit in the kitchen & told me, "hold two of them in the palm of your hand and squeeze until you crack one..."

I don't know where all that came from, but it did bring a smile to my face :-)
